Prototyping Services
IMC Magnetics delivers rapid prototyping - in as fast as 6 to 8 weeks,
IMC will develop the ideal solenoid and have it in your hands! IMC
Magnetics employs a lean design and manufacturing philosophy that
utilizes advanced technology from conceptual design through every
step of product development and manufacturing. IMC reduces prototype
lead-time by partnering with key suppliers to provide rapid quick
castings for long lead cast parts - this also results in getting the
prototype to the customer faster. IMC Magnetics maintains a fully
staffed and equipped stand-alone research and development facility
that not only has the capability for custom solenoid, valve, fan and
motor development and prototyping but also can provide for the rapid
transition to production.
The IMC engineering team has a combined 80 years of experience in the design, development, manufacturing and testing of solenoids, valves, fans and motors. The experienced engineers at IMC Magnetics are fully trained in the use of ProEngineer 3D CAD™ software for drafting and modeling of concept (prototype) and development products. The engineering group utilizes 6 Sigma design software to ensure optimal design tolerancing, which allows for easier manufacturability and assembly of the designed product. In addition, ProManufacturing CAM™ software allows for the 6 Sigma tolerance optimization to directly transition the design parameters from the ProEngineer software to the CNC machine tools, thereby increasing accuracy and minimizing errors.
The Quality Assurance System at IMC Magnetics is extremely extensive. IMC is certified for ISO9001, is NADCAP certified for heat treatment processes, is AS9100 and ISO14001 registered, and is also a certified FAA Repair Station for the overhaul of solenoids, solenoid valves, fans, and DC force motors. Additionally, CMM (Capability Maturity Model) inspection of products is performed with the latest state-of-the-art CMM equipment. Further examples of the wide-ranging IMC Magnetics quality assurance process are the in-house capabilities to perform acceptance tests on air and nitrogen pneumatic components as well as MIL-H-5606, MIL-PRF-83282, MIL-H-7808, MIL-C-7024 and Skydrol fluid components. IMC also has an in-house testing facility to perform all required testing including proof pressure, flow rate, pressure drop, force, thermal, environmental, response time, life cycle and electrical checks.
